Osan 06/13/2008
![]() Boy 1 and I went to Osan Air Force Base yesterday. We are heading to Saipan today and we needed to get our SOFA stamps in our passports before we leave. We can get them done here, however it takes MUCH longer to get them done & they would not be complete before we left. So, we hopped on a bus (visualize that) and headed to Osan, a 1 hour 15 minute trip. We didn’t mind though, this was a great opportunity to see another area of Korea, plus the Air Force seems to live a more posh life than the Army, their BX is bigger than our PX, they seem to have more amenities and their housing is better...yes, you sense a bit of jealousy. It took all of 3 minutes, including waiting time to get our SOFA stamps. From there we headed here…….. Yes, the Air Force base even has a Chili's! Now we love the food here in Korea, but to see a Chili's was like a little slice of heaven. Boy 1 and I were very excited to eat here. He had a sirloin and I had the quesadilla explosion salad, we also had chips and salsa. To be in Chili's was almost like being in the US for a little while. We have decided we will have to come back every few months just to eat here. COZCOZ 06/13/2008
![]() Can you guess what this picture is from? Yes, boy 2 is now modeling as well. I will try not to bore you guys will tons of modeling pictures over the next 2 years, but it is exciting for us. Boy 3 went on a photo shoot; while we were there the people working kept swooning around boy 2. They kept pinching his cheeks, running their fingers through his hair, asking him his name, how old he is, giving him gum (his favorite) and just making him feel like a king. After an hour or so they just started putting clothes on him and getting him dressed. He had a GREAT time; he may have had even more fun than boy 3. When boy 2 came home he told his dad “they took pictures of me and gave me SO MUCH MONEY because I am SO HANDSOME”!! ![]() Boy 3 getting ready for his photo shoot. When the catalogs come out I will send you all a link to check out my boys. Allo & Lugh 06/11/2008
![]() Boy 3 went on another photo shoot this week. This time it was it was with a company called Allo & Lugh. I don’t really know much about this company. Boy 3’s clothes were a little small on this shoot as well. There were about 8 kids doing this shoot, Boy 3 was the only one that did not have a melt down at some point, and when we left, he said "I want do this again" , I mean who wouldn't, he felt like a king. He was in the makeup chair 3 times, he changed clothes 5 times and they gave him anything he wanted; donuts, pizza, nerds, all sorts of Korean candies. Boy 2 tagged along on this shoot, and he enjoyed it as well. Ms. Sue even gave him some money at the end because he came and "helped" with all the little kids. They are very good to all the children that come to take pictures. OK, here are the pictures from the photo shoot, but they are backwards. You see the last pictures first....I can't figure it out tonight...it is late and I need to go to bed. Dongdaemun 06/10/2008
Hubby got back from TDY on Saturday night. He had a GREAT time in San Diego with his brother and friend. On Sunday he had a bit of jet-lag (to say the least, you will understand when you come visit) and I had a bit of cabin fever so on Sunday he stayed home with the kids and had a PJ day while I went out with a friend to explore even more of Seoul. We started off going to Dongdaemun, they say some of the best bargains can be found at the Dongdaemun market, a large area packed with small shops & big malls. I went in search of the fabric market. We found everything, the only problem; most things are closed on Sunday in Dongdaemun. This picture is of Cheonggyecheon Stream that travels through the Dongdaemun area. It has great history I will tell you about later when I have walked the entire thing and have more pictures. As we were walking around Dongdaemun, we happened upon "pet ally". Check out some of the animals they were selling as pets…. ![]() And my all time favorite, which I considered buying for my kids.....THE WATER BUG!!!!! Yummy.... 06/06/2008
![]() More delicious looking street food. I really cannot believe anyone would eat this, I have watched too, and I never see anyone buying or eating this on the streets. Humm...is this really just to freak out tourist? Silk worms and snails, now I am a girl that likes escargot, but come on - with shells on - really? |
